Overview

What is the US CMA?

The credential for finance professionals who sit inside the business.

The Certified Management Accountant credential, awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants, USA, is the qualification for finance professionals who sit inside the business rather than outside auditing it. Where ACCA reports on what happened, the CMA decides what happens next — costing, budgeting, forecasting, performance management and capital decisions. Two parts makes it the fastest global credential to complete alongside a degree.

  • Awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA
  • Recognised in 150+ countries
  • Covers management accounting, costing, budgeting, FP&A and strategic financial decision-making
  • Only two parts — no exemptions, and none needed
